Prague is the most developed region in the Czech Republic, and is among the most developed regions within the EU. In 2005, average GDP per capita (in current prices) in Prague was 209% of the average for the whole country. Prague is the richest region from all of the regions of the 10 new EU member countries. From all of the regions of the new EU member countries, only Prague is clearly above the average of the EU average when GDP in Purchasing Power Standard is compared.
