AmCham HR Committee met on June 26th

June 26, 2009
1. Introduction of new chairman – Richard Dobeš, Managing Partner Central Europe, Krauthammer Czech Republic
2. Discussion about events that were held last year – how they were successful and numbers of registered and participating members
3. Discussion about results of questionnaire – to organize HR seminars/panel discussions in the morning, continue with questionnaire at more HR events to get more answers
4. Mission of the HR Committee will remain the same
5. Interesting topics in the field of HR:
a. Where is the bottom for the CR? How not to miss the opportunity? How are GMs motivated by themselves? Leadership, Management styles, Business ethics, Business practices
b. Keeping people motivated, motivation of employees, Czech Republic – culture based on bonuses, How to motivate people without bonuses? Loyalty of employees and GMs
c. Changes in legislation, lobbying, procedures
d. Leadership of middle management
e. Encouraging diversity
f. How to cut costs but keep the quality? Cost cutting, Efficiency
g. CSR, image of companies
h. Outplacement
6. To organize HR seminars every 6 weeks and bigger events 2-3 times a year (for GMs and HR managers), topics: Leadership, Management styles etc.
7. Promotion of HR events – discussion about using the database of AmCham and cooperation with other organizations (HR Forum, Association of coaches, …), to meet with representatives of other AmCham Committees (Martina will prepare list of active Committees and will find out active members and next planned meetings)
8. Planned events for Fall:
a. How to keep people motivated in this period? Speakers – Compensation and benefit manager, HR Manager, GM (manufacturing sector?), Consultant – Blake Wittman will moderate this event, it will be held in the beginning of October, Martina will prepare list of AmCham members from Manufacturing sector:

9. HR Committee agreed that its meetings will be held every last Friday of the month except August and December:

10. Next HR Committee meeting will be held on September 4th at AmCham offices, Dušní 10, Prague 1, 9:00 – 11:00. Do not forget to register at www.amcham.cz!
