Experts discussed practical issues related to GDPR on January 27

The Czech Industry Coalition on Data Protection (CICDP) in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic hosted President of the Czech Office for the Protection of Personal Data Ivana Janů (ÚOOÚ) and experts from CICDP, SPIR and Association for the protection of personal data to discuss practical issues concerning The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679.

The expert panelists Mrs Ivana Janů (ÚOOÚ), Václav Mach (Microsoft, CICDP), Kateřina Hrubešová (SPIR) and Vladan Rámiš (Association for the protection of personal data) discussed new requirements set by GDPR, including the issues of Data Protection Officers (DPOs), the right to data portability or Codes of conduct according to article 40 of GDPR, for example. GDPR will take effect on 25 May 2018.

'This form of consultations is very beneficial for the Office. The effective information exchange and looking for common solutions, that would help meet the requirements set by the regulation, is important for smooth transition to the new European legislation on personal data protection', said Mrs Janů.
