AmCham Health Care Council roundtable with Deputy Minister Dvořáček addressed priorities of the upcoming EU presidency and focused on ways to increase disease prevention

Czech healthcare withstood the massive stress of several waves of covid. Now the system will need to absorb a few hundred thousand sudden new users as Ukrainians take up temporary residence (of an indeterminate length) in the country.

AmCham met with Deputy Health Minister Jakub Dvořáček for the third round of the roundtables on prevention. With professionals from the field of oncology, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, and cardiology around the table, as well as a representative from the leading insurer, the discussion began with a brief from AmCham Ukraine on the stability of the health care system there, addressed the four priorities of the upcoming EU presidency, and finished by discussing projects that could increase disease prevention, including AmCham member companies.

We appreciate insights and discussion with Deputy Director for Health Care of VZP health insurance company Jan Bodnár, oncology expert professor Petra Tesařová, atherosclerosis expert professor Jan Piťha, osteoporosis expert doctor Richard Pikner, Director of ČLS JEP medical society professor Štěpán Svačina, obesitology expert doc. Martin Matoulek, and diabetes expert professor Prázný.
