AmCham Health Care Council Co-Chair Tomáš Březina of Amgen led a meeting with Minister Vojtěch and Deputy Minister Martina Koziar Vašáková on covid vaccination policy, major disease prevention, and digitization. Jana Břeská of Amazon Web Services, Martin Koníř of KPMG, Nelly Tomčíková of AmCham and Weston Stacey of AmCham also attended the session.
Weston Stacey reported on the discussion on company vaccination policy with major employers. Companies disagree about whether government-mandated vaccination would assist the return to office work. Several were uncertain how they could enforce that policy legally. Some reported that senior management had opposed global vaccinations of their company. A majority indicated that increasing tensions between vaccinated and unvaccinated employees were beginning to challenge internal cooperation.
Tomáš Březina proposed continuing prevention roundtables with the goal of sharing best practice across disease areas and identifying projects that could decrease incidence of major disease and increase detection at earlier stages of those diseases. The Ministry agreed.
Martin Koníř and Jana Břeská emphasized that EU funds represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve health care through investments into digitization. To achieve the optimal outcome, both proposed that measurable objectives related to prevention, treatment, system efficiency, and innovation be established for digitization projects. AmCham proposed to organize roundtables to discuss how digitization can best achieve gains in those four areas, and will follow up with ministry officials responsible for digitization projects.
