“We will all soon retreat to our friends and family for days of festivity, kinship and rest. For most Europeans and Americans, this is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, whose teachings form so much of our joint values. He urged us toward empathy: To do unto others as we would want others to treat us. As we reflect on the past year and prepare for the next, it gives us a chance to consider how we could better promote our values in our work, in our life, and in our society.
