The international music festival “Martisor” starts at 1st March and lasts for 10 days. For the first time the festival was organized in 1967. March 1–2, 2014: Maslyana Festival

Maslyana, also known as a Pancake Week, is one of the biggest Eastern Slavic religious and folk holidays, celebrated during the last week before Great Lent. Open-air Museum of Folk Architecture and Folkways of Ukraine in
Pyrohiv is happy to invite you to celebrate Maslyana in accordance with ancient Ukrainian traditions. Participate in snowball fights, sledding, riding on swings, sleigh rides, horse-riding and a lot of other festive activities. As the culmination of the celebration, on Sunday evening, enjoy the ceremony of putting a traditional symbol of winter - a jack-straw - to the flames of a bonfire.
