AmCham Plans in Health Care for 2014/2015

For the past two years, we have been organizing a series of roundtables with the Minister of Health and significant healthcare institutions and associations. Our purpose has been to discuss key issues facing the sector, and to build some consensus on how to reform healthcare in ways that improve health, not just cut costs. Given that political instability likely will continue into the future, we now intend 1) to broaden the political participation in the seminar and 2) to unify private sector associations behind a some key positions so that some momentum for effective reform can be built and sustained until completion. We agreed we would draft a position paper around two themes: building a good monitoring/measurement system (e-health) and assessing whether the reimbursement system is an effective tool for improving health.
