Draft Act on University Hospitals was discussed and approved on Wednesday

Leoš Heger – Minister of Healthcare presented the Draft Act on University Hospitals on 29 August 2012. It is another step in healthcare reform and should limit the political influence in the hospitals´ environment.  The main activities of the university hospitals should be to provide health services, cooperate on practical training of health professionals and on scientific and research activities. Representatives of Ministry and university or faculty of each hospital would be involved in the major decisions, including the representatives of bodies of the university hospital. Another aim of the draft act is to secure responsible management with its own managers´ responsibility.
