Michal Nebeský of Citibank voted in as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic

By unanimous vote, the AmCham Board of Directors has approved Michal Nebeský. Country Officer for Citibank, to serve as President until July 2015. Nebeský replaces Dan Ťok, who left the private sector for public service.

Nebeský has served on the board of directors since 2013 and was vice-president of finance since July 2014. He has been active in our advocacy efforts, particularly with our meetings with politicians after parliamentary elections and prior to Prague’s municipal election.

“We are going to continue to push a strategy that combines value-added exports with the smart development of urban areas,” Nebeský says. “In January, we will start the next phase of our move to online networking, and we will expand our work with NGOs striving to increase citizen participation in their communities. I am honored by the appointment and I am really looking forward to working with the members on making this a better place to live and work.”

The board will appoint a new board member to replace Tok by the end of the month, as well as a new vice president of finance.
