František Dostálek of KPMG re-elected to serve as a president of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic

During the annual General Assembly held on June 20, 2013, František Dostálek, Chairman and CEO of KPMG Central and Eastern Europe, was re-elected to serve as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic (AmCham).

“As a business community, we must understand that if we want a better tomorrow for this country, we have to change how we participate in society. We have to lead,“ Dostalek told members. “The first step is to restore trust in government. We need an innovative and honest government that is a partner for business and for society. That is why we urged the reform of public procurement. It is also why we support the reform of political party finance and the public administration.“

“At the same time, we should make our communities perform better and our companies more productive. We should create a common vision of the future of Prague and of Brno and other important communities in our country, and we should make our manufacturing sector not only competitive at producing products for export, but also researching and developing those products.”

The Executive Committee of the AmCham Board of Directors also consists of the following people:

  • Zdeněk Vilímek of Coca-Cola Northern Central Europe as 1st vice-president;
  • Jan Brázda of Constellation as 2nd vice-president;
  • Michal Chour of Radisson Blu Alcron Hotel as 3rd vice-president and 
  • Dan Ťok of Skanska as vice-president for finance.

The Board of Directors consists of 17 members and has several new faces from companies 3M Česko – David Vrba; Citibank Europe – Michal Nebeský a Merck Sharp & Dohme – Václav Novotný.

They will join František Dostálek of KPMG Central & Eastern Europe, Zdeněk Vilímek of Coca-Cola Northern Central Europe, Jan Brázda of Constellation, Michal Chour of Radisson Blu Alcron Prague, Dan Ťok of Skanska, Erik Best of Fleet Sheet/E.S. Best, Jaroslav Doležal of Honeywell, Michael Fabián of American Express, Josef Kotrba of Deloitte Advisory, Michael Mullen of PricewaterhouseCoopers Česká republika, David Plch of White & Case, advokátní kancelář, Magdalena Soucek of Ernst & Young, Sanjiv Suri of Zátiší Group and Vladek Šlezingr of IBM Česká republika.

František Dostálek was elected as Chairman and CEO of KPMG Central and Eastern Europe in 2006 and again in 2010. He is also a member of global and European leadership of KPMG.
