František Dostálek of KPMG elected to serve as a new president of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic

During the annual General Assembly held on June 14, 2012, František Dostálek, Chairman and CEO of KPMG Central and Eastern Europe, was elected to serve as the new President of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic (AmCham). Dostálek, who served as vice-president for finance last three years, will replace Ronald Adams of Tatra, who served two years as president.

“I have been working as an AmCham Board member since 2001 and during that time the chamber has became an important and respected partner. The decision of the Board to get publicly engaged in public procurement and in the fight against corruption has proven to be correct,” mentioned František Dostálek. “There is still much to do. The Czech economy doesn´t use its potential sufficiently. Important decisions that will soon have to be taken by European and Czech politicians will influence societal and economic development for many years. AmCham will continue to seek such changes that will increase the long-term competitiveness of the Czech economy and have a positive impact on the society. I would like to contribute to such changes in cooperation with other chambers, associations and non-profit organizations,” added Dostálek to AmCham´s direction during near future.

The Executive Committee of the AmCham Board of Directors also consists of the following people:

  • Zdeněk Vilímek of Coca-Cola Northern Central Europe as 1st vice-president;
  • Jan Brázda of Constellation as 2nd vice-president;
  • Michal Chour of Radisson Blu Alcron Hotel as 3rd vice-president and
  • Dan Ťok of Skanska as vice-president for finance.

František Dostálek was elected as Chairman and CEO of KPMG Central and Eastern Europe in 2006 and 2010. He is also a member of global and European leadership of KPMG. He likes theatre, travelling, cycling and skiing.
