Seminar driver: Michal Chour, General Manager of Radisson BLU Alcron: "Value Based Organization (VBO) was introduced to me through Graham Maher, former CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic, who is the most inspirational leader I have ever gotten to know and also Liam Forde, the founder of the Zone. We started implementing VBO in our hotel in 2009. The journey was amazing learning curve for all of us. With the help of the team, we managed to grow employee satisfaction, reduce turnover, improve quality of service and reduce labor cost - all of this during the deepest hospitality industry crisis in Prague where rooms revenue dropped by 20% and 25% in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Are we unique compared to other organizations having values? Perhaps we are as our values were not imposed on us through corporate head office but we have developed them on our own. Perhaps this is the reason why we feel stronger ownership of our values. In the past year, I came across Zappos, most likely the world’s best Value based driven organization and also an organization with one of the best customer satisfaction and loyalty. I realized there is so much more we can do in the years to come."
