What makes Brno so special? It Is the people. Come and get inspired by some of Brno’s top business leaders and their success stories. After the panel session, you will have a chance to network with representatives of many Brno companies in a relaxed atmosphere. On this night, we celebrate all the business success we have had in Brno and we would like YOU to be part of it.

Speakers:

• Jorge Cooper, Partner at Dynargie

Jorge is a global consultant who has taught leadership and soft skills to professionals from 161 countries. For 17 years, he has worked with international companies in the Czech Republic, Russia, India, China, Dubai, Portugal, and all over Europe. Since 2002, Jorge has been a guest professor at University of Economics in Prague, teaching Leadership in a Multicultural Environment. He will be the moderator for the evening.

• Martin Janáček, Managing Director, SAP Labs Czech Republic

From software developer to managing director! Martin is a great example of someone who has climbed the ladder of success. His ambitious SAP career path began in 2001 at SAP headquarters in Germany and has included several roles: developer, development manager, internal auditor, internal coach, and senior development manager. Currently, he is the site lead of the R&D center focused on development, localization and maintenance of SAP solutions in Brno. Martin will be happy to host this event and show you the impressive and innovative office design at SAP Labs. Before his career in SAP, Martin obtained a master’s degree in system engineering and informatics from Mendel’s university in Brno, worked for student organization AIESEC as project manager and led a non-profit yachting association.

• Ladislav Venc, AT&T Czech Republic Country Manager, Sr. Manager Global Strategy & Operations

Ladislav has been a true success story in IT and telecommunications, including more than 6 years at IBM and 10 years at AT&T. He has built AT&T into one of the most prestigious places to work in Brno. AT&T has helped Brno become a center of science based innovation with AT&T University Research Laboratory. The AT&T team in Brno has grown to 1,600 people, and Ladislav had big plans for expansion in the Czech Republc. We will learn about his plans this evening.

• Jiří Hlavenka, Kiwi.com, Co-Founder and Investor

Some people have a magic touch! Businessman and investor Jiří Hlavenka has had success in most of his ventures. He has been active in the field of information technology since the early 1990s. He is a co-founder of Computer Press in Brno (from 1994 to 2005 he was Chief Executive Officer). In recent years, he has been investing in various start-up companies . He is former co-founder, partner and managing director of Kiwi.com, a global player in airline ticket sales with revenues of more than a billion euros a year.

• Barbora Bühnová, Associate Professor at Masaryk University (MU), Faculty of Informatics in Brno, and a Deputy Chair of the Department of Computer Systems and Communications at FI MU

Barbora leads multiple research teams at Faculty of Informatics MU (team on software architecture), the Institute of Computer Science MU (team on big data analytics), and Czech CyberCrime Centre of Excellence C4e (team on critical infrastructures). Next to her academic activities, Bára is the chair of the Association of Industrial Partners of Masaryk University, Faculty of Informatics (with 30 companies). She is also part of the strategic team running the Czechitas non-profit organisation aiming at making IT skills more accessible to youth and women of any age (reaching to 10,000+ graduates).

• Markéta Gabzdyl Tichá, Owner of the Cloud 9 Institute in Brno, Personal Growth Advisor

She is a life lover and a positive thinker, a coach, a lecturer, and a mentor. Finding simplicity in complexity and encouraging others to become the best versions of themselves is what she does. She sees connection between the human mind and what a human manifests in the physical world. Cloud 9 Institute was founded to give people the choice of a holistic - complex - approach to their health, love, spiritual and other topics. Markéta loves what she does and believes that the collaboration in different fields has a great impact on one’s personal growth.
