What

If the government's new strategy on innovation is to be sustainable, Czech research institutions will need to attract more investment from private companies, who then turn that research into high value-added products and reinvest the profits from those products into more research.

GE Aviation is a prototype of such an investment. The creation of new test beds for aircraft engines increases CVUT's ability to conduct worldclass research and therefore increases its attractiveness for further private investment. Why are there not more such investments in the pipeline?

The roundtable will be divided into two sections. The first will address obstacles to private investment. The second will propose a plan of recruitment.

Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček will lead the government and university participants. Honorary AmCham chair and US Ambassador Stephen King, Milan Šlapák of GE Aviation and Vladimír Mařík of CIIRC will lead the AmCham delegation.
