ODS is a party in turmoil. Its first election leader, Miroslav Toplánek, has been banished for ugly remarks about homosexuals and for raising questions about the purity of defense tenders. As new leader, Petr Nečas now must find a way to revive the party’s plummeting fortunes. Will ODS continue the strategy of radical reform and indifference to corruption, or will it now understand that voters have lost faith not in the party’s ideas, but in the people behind them?
