What

The Czech Republic is now committed to becoming the Country for the Future. The premise is that our university system combined with our base of research companies will produce the technological, entrepreneurial, management, and policy talent to raise the country to the upper echelon of innovative economies on the planet. Other countries also want a better place in the future.

The next government- and governments beyond- will need to make decisions about how to use public research to support cutting edge products, education and immigration to shape the workforce, diplomacy to enhance cooperation and expand market access, and charisma to promote the country on the world stage.

On September 22, at 5 pm, three leading candidates to shape the country's economic direction over the next four years- Karel Havlíček of ANO, Lukáš Wagenknecht of the Pirates/STAN and Markéta Pekarová Adamová from SPOLU will join AmCham Vice-President Milan Šlapák, Swiss-Czech Chamber of Commerce President and Aspen Institute Board Member Marek Procházka, and British Chamber of Commerce Vice-Chair Petr Karel in a discussion on climate change's impact on economies, innovation policy, the influence of geopolitics on trade, and other issues vital to the country's economic development.
