European Commission acting in conjunction with the Czech antitrust office carried out dawn raids on ČEZ and J&T between 24. - 27. November 2009 which were the biggest that the Commission has carried out in the Czech Republic to date, and have sparked much discussion within the market about competition law issues and the role of the EU in investigating suspected violations of the competition rules. Štěpán Svoboda, an in-house competition specialist of CMS Cameron McKenna, who has worked in the European commission, DG Competition and helped organize dawn raids, will talk you through the procedure involved in dawn raids and the powers that the European Commission and the Czech antitrust office have to investigate suspected anticompetitive activity of the companies and will give you practical advice how your business can prepare for them and how it should react if the EU inspectors are standing at the reception of your company. The seminar is aimed mostly at the management and in-house lawyers of companies from all industry sectors. Please, click on the attached invitation for more details.
