AmCham General Assembly: What We Think: How business views the development of cutting edge technology and innovative cities in the Czech Republic.

Companies are the primary creators of technology. They process the knowledge generated in universities (as well as their own labs), and the support offered by government, turn it into new products and services, figure out how to produce it commercially at volume, and sell it around the world to generate not only profit for themselves but public revenue and wealth for the country.

Why is it then that when the media wants to know how to be innovative, they point their microphone at politicians, government officials or professors?

The country's key competitive advantage today are technologies being developed at dozens of companies around the country. Those technologies, and the companies' ability to scale them commercially and sell them globally, are the key to the country's future prosperity. So we decided to ask the people driving those projects to talk about the country's current innovative capacity and what we can do to increase it. 

Czechia has moved into the next stage of its economic development. To prosper further, the country must innovate what will it take to achieve our innovative potential? We should ask the source of most successful innovation: companies.

At our General Assembly (August 24th, 1600-1800), we are going to go directly to the source. We are going to ask individuals who have been responsible for some of the country's major innovation to assess our current capacity- and how we can increase that capacity exponentially.
