We cordially invite you to the 9th Regional Tax Conference, organized by the American Chambers of Commerce in Central and Eastern Europe and held under the honorary auspices of the Polish Ministry of Finance. The conference will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Warsaw, Poland. This year´s Conference will be focused on the topic of "Ten years in the European Union: Impact on taxation in Central and Eastern Europe". The conference brings together tax experts from businesses and governments from across the region to discuss challenges, solutions and best practices in the area of taxation for the countries in the region. The invited panelists will discuss about the need for more or less harmonization of EU tax regulations, the role of the Court of Justice of EU, the attractiveness of tax environments as well as the trend for tightening of tax rules in the CEE countries. Among the confirmed speakers are: • Janusz Cichoń, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, Poland • Zoltán Pankucsi, Deputy Secretary of State for Taxation, Ministry for National Economy, Hungary • Stanislav Kouba, Head of Income Taxes and Public Insurance Unit, Czech Republic • James Roaf, IMF Senior Resident Representative for Central and Eastern Europe • Ivan Rumana, Judge at the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic • Will Morris, Global Tax Policy Director for General Electric • Cezary Krysiak, Director of the Tax Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance, Poland • Tomasz Sadzyński, President of the Łódź Special Economic Zone Detailed program is available in the attached agenda.
