Minutes from HR Committee held on April 26, 2013

AmCham HR Committee met to discuss and plan upcoming activities. Proposals for last 2013 Best Office publication contributions were collected (issues of HR Outsourcing, Aging Population or Recruiting through Social Media). Upcoming discussions and debates were planned - Customer Services in Prague (for May 31 - to be confirmed and announced soon) and Debates on Quotas in Management (to take place on June 14). For later this year (Q4) topics of 'What skills and qualification changes is manufacturing facing?' or 'People Testing / Assessment Centres' are planned to be discussed.

Nominees are requested to provide their summary (200 words description of their past experience) and ideas for development of the committee and further activities (approx. 250 words)

Minutes from Marketing Committee meeting held on April 25

AmCham Marketing Committee met to discuss and plan next activities. Possible topic of next  workshop of Effective Marketing with... series was discussed - Viral Videos (it would be held on May 30 - will be confirmed and announced soon). Information on 2013 Best Office publication contributions were shared and date of articles delivery was agreed. Committee discussed its potential involvement in planned Future of Prague conference that will be held on May 16. Outcomes from the workshop on Unleash the Power of Diversity at Work: How to Manage Gender and Cultural Differences in Your Company

The workshop included:

  • scientific research-based overview of the most important gender-related challenges that affect almost every workplace
  • tools to use to implement successful diversity programs
  • case study for the group to apply what has been discussed
  • a candid discussion about gender-related challenges participants are experiencing in their workplace

Minutes from Marketing Committee held on March 28, 2013

Marketing Committee met to discuss and plan next activities. Committee agreed that the whole day paid training on Leveraging Facebook Usage will be held in June. Members can still send their proposals for 2013 Best Office publication articles delivery until April 15 (MarCom perspectives of the defined trends). Committee discussed its contribution to the Future of Prague conference that is about to be held in May. It agreed that the workshop on How to make tourists stay longer in Prague (from 2 to 3 nights)? will be proposed and concrete proposals of what needs to be done will be prepared. Committee will discuss this concrete proposal during the next meeting on April 25. More information is attached in the minutes.

Minutes from HR Committee meeting held on March 27, 2013

AmCham HR Committee met to discuss and plan upcoming activities. New topics related to Future of... series were brainsormed (can be found in the attached document). Members can still send their submissions on selected topics for 2013 Best Office publication (until April 15). In the near future HR Committee will hold two workshops - one on Innovation in Language Learning and one on How to Tap into the Potential of your Diversity (both will be driven by famous foreign experts, you can register through our Activities Schedule) and in June the debate on Quotas in Management will take place.

CSR Committee Meeting Minutes

Please see the Minutes of the  CSR Committee meeting held on March 26. Short summary of planned actions:
The Comittee will continue in looking for business examples of creating shared value in issues related to seniors and we would like to organize a debate on this topic. By April 15, we are collecting suggestions for articles to the Best Office publication with subtitle Future of Work. Members can propose article about their CSR experiences, that bring something new, which could be seen as a future trend. Similarly, AmCham collects ideas for events or articles focused on AmCham monthly themes: future of Prague; manufacturing; good governance; competition; office; energy. Finally, CSR Committee will prepare a discussion about NGO-business cooperation, that would be held at the NGO Market on May 3. Feel free to send any examples of expert cooperation between NGO and business. Details can be found in the attached file.

Investing in Art: is it worth it?

On March 21, AmCham held a discussion on investing into stock exchange vs. investing into art. In the discussion hosted by Petr Hájek of the Chemistry Gallery you could hear opinions of  Aleš Mátl, Analyst of Investments at UniCredit Private Banking, Aleš Michl, Chief Investment Officer at Raiffeisenbank, Jan Skřivánek, Editor-in-Chief of the Art & Antiques magazine and Monika Rutland, Art Collector. The discussion was attended by AmCham members, but also by several artists and art lovers. Discussion attendees concluded the evening by visiting stands of almost 30 galleries of contemporary art that Iva Nesvadbová and Milan Jaroš of Art Prague introduced in this 2013 art fair.

Minutes from Real Estate Committee meeting held on March 20

AmCham Real Estate Committee met to discuss upcoming events and activities. Preparation and questions related to the briefing on Prague Master Plan and final version of the new Construction code that will take place in April were discussed and brainstormed. Committee also discussed its possible contribution to the prepared conference on Future of Prague that will take place in May and will deal with issues related to Tourism, Research & Development and Companies headquarters. Finally this year´s theme of 2013 Best Office publication - Future of Work - was discussed and committee came up with proposals of contributions related to real estate issues. The main topics opened during the meeting have covered the CRM trends for future, experience from implementation and usage of different CRM solutions. AmCham Real Estate Committee met to discuss and plan upcoming activities. In upcoming months members will have the chance to discuss the development of the newly prepared Prague City Master Plan (April 10) or talk to Ministry of Regional Development Deputy Minister about the final version of new Construction Code.
