AmCham´s President speech on 2010-2011 priorities
Dear friends;
As your newly-elected AmCham President, I wish to keep you informed not only of our plans and activities but, also, of our need for your help. I write to bring your attention to the two very important areas which require our immediate attention and continuing efforts which allowed AmCham such great and widely-recognized success last year.
First, we will be focusing on policy measures that will not only resolve the lingering financial and economic crisis, but we will focus on measures to create a stable and competitive business climate. These key policies of AmCham will be directed towards public procurement reform, tax policy, health care, labor code and energy efficiency. I ask that Members who are interested in this important area contact Iveta Havlová at ihavlova@amcham.cz.
Second, we need to increase the level of cooperation within the business community. That is why AmCham will strongly push the Council on Czech Competitiveness (CCC), increase the number of senior level executive meetings and discussions, and further develop our Truth and Trust series. We are establishing a Leadership Council for planning our Truth and Trust events, and senior level executives interested in joining should contact Weston Stacy at wstacey@amcham.cz.
In closing, I would like to point out that AmCham is not only a very good place for business networking but it is, also, the premier forum for unifying the business community’s message to the government. Our mission at AmCham is more critical now than in the last few years because we now have a very new government which should set the pace for much-needed reform. But to keep our well-defined initiatives in the eyes of the new government, it is very important that we keep up our efforts. We need your active involvement in AmCham to use this opportunity and be part of setting the future course for not only business but, also, for government policies for years in the future.
Please be active and please recruit other business leaders to our AmCham. We hope to hear from you soon!
Respectfully yours,
Ronald A. Adams
