2013 Board of Directors Elections: Candidates Profiles & Voting Information
The Board of Directors consists of 17 member representatives elected by the membership. Directors serve two-year terms with no limit on the number of terms served.
AmCham members should receive either 5 (Corporate Patron, Corporate) or 2 (Small Business / Entrepreneur) ballots by registered mail between May 20-21, 2013. If you don´t receive the appropriate number of ballots, please contact Lucie Vrbova at lvrbova@amcham.cz.

Survey Request: Competitiveness of Czech Economic Policy 2013
The AmCham is conducting its 2013 Survey on the Competitiveness of Czech Economic Policy. This survey intends to identify competitive advantages and disadvantages and will be used to craft a set of economic priorities to be presented to the government. It will be compared with the outcome of the 2009 and 2011 survey, as well as the results from three other CE countries- Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia- which are joining the report this year.
We would greatly appreciate if you would 1) complete the survey as soon as possible and 2) asking business partners to also complete it. The deadline for completing the survey is May 10.

2013 AmCham Board of Directors Elections - Nomination Period (April 19 - May 3)
AmCham opens nomination period for 2013 Board of Directors Elections. Representative of a member company in good standing can nominate himself/herself or another representative of a member company in a good standing.
Nominations are supposed to be sent between April 19 and May 3, 2013 to Weston Stacey at wstacey@amcham.cz and to Lucie Vrbová at lvrbova@amcham.cz in a copy.
All nominations must be written on company´s letter head.

Opening the grant competition One World, Many Voices
AmCham is opening a new call for projects that can obtain a grant from AmCham program One World, Many Voices. Thanks to many chamber members, that supported the program by purchasing a corporate table at the Thanksgiving Ball or participating in the Silent Auction, in 2013 we will allocate CZK 537,000 to community projects realized by pupils or students. Main objective of this program is increasing civic participation and involvement in local communities.

AmCham publishes a full color informative brochure about the Czech Republic annually. 2013 best office publication – time for your submissions
AmCham committees have defined major trends which as well as other related aspects will be covered in this year´s publication issue. Overall publication theme for 2013 is Future of Work. Any member company can participate on the preparation of publication´s content – best through attending one of AmCham best office committees where all details are being discussed and proposals made. Transfers to schools made from One World, Many Voices program
Already this week, AmCham transferred grants to 4 schools that are supported from the One World, Many Voices.7 more grants will be transferred in March.
AmCham members continue donating books for school library in Hlavečník. This small school will build up a library not only for school kids but also for their parents and local inhabitants. AmCham will collect books by March 11 and we expect to have more than 200 books.

Thanks to new regional TOURISM GUIDE AmCham members can promote their events and offers abroad
Starting March 2013 AmCham Czech Republic in cooperation with its colleagues from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Slovenia will publish and distribute a monthly online publication called Tourism Guide highlighting upcoming events and featuring special offers to the members. The publication will have one page for each participating AmCham and all members of participating AmChams will be eligible for the special offer. Donate books for school library
From its grant program One World, Many Voices AmCham will support 11 school projects. One of supported projects includes building up a school library that will be open to public too. The school is situated in Hlavečník, village near Pardubice. Since they need to get books for their library, AmCham members can donate some good books that school children and adults in the village would appreciate. Both Czech and English books are welcome and anyone, who would like contribute books, should contact Eva Chvalkovska at echvalkovska@amcham.cz

From its program One World, Many Voices, AmCham supported 11 school projects, that are beneficial for local community and bring together youngsters, public and local government. There are 27 projects left, that could not be sponsored from the program and seek for support. One World, Many Voices - CZK 520.000 for 11 Czech school projects
Thanks to its members’ donations, AmCham will allocate CZK 520.000 among 11 Czech public schools through the whole country. The support goes to school projects that bring active youngsters together with local government representatives through realization of something beneficial for local community.

38 school projects request a grant from AmCham One World, Many Voices program
On November 30, AmCham closed its call for projects for the grant program One World, Many Voices. AmCham received 38 applications from Czech elementary and secondary schools (click on the title to see their list). Commission of AmCham members will recommend projects that AmCham should support by a grant and the final approval will be given by the AmCham Board of Directors. Projects will be evaluated according to following criteria: purpose and objectives of the project, positive effect on the community; involvement of class/school, local community/public, local government or its office; long term sustainability of the project; value for money.
